I have always said babies don’t come with a manual because each is unique and different in their special way. There is no cookie-cutter right or wrong after following the basic means for survival is met.
The same can be said about moving to a small town. To outsiders, they may all seem somewhat cookie-cutter with their similar ways of dress and mannerisms. But kind of like when I was in Cathloic school when we had to wear uniforms and the college kids preparing for Rush Week there is something interesting that happens. Sometimes beneath all that similar exterior personalities and character inevitably shines through.
Even though we are about a week away from move-in date my anxiety has calmed and excitement has taken over. It has been said before that if you give anyone an hour (enough time to drink a cup of coffee or two) and just talk you will find something in common with them. I have always said the best piece of advice is to become friends with someone you wouldn’t normally.
I am about to embark on the true test of my words.
Good luck!
