This is a beautifully illustrated edition of Edgar Allen Poe’s popular poem. In the poem, he compares himself as he relates to everyone else around him. This is a wonderful way to introduce Poe to young readers and has always been a favorite of mine. Setting the tone like only Poe can the illustrations are a wonderfully dark compliment to his words. I also think it is a good lesson to teach that even one of the greatest authors also compares themselves to others and feels that they don't measure up, while generations have deemed his writing more than worthy.
